Prayer is ...
... "the church's banquet ...
the soul in paraphrase, heart in pilgrimage ...
Engine against th' Almighty, sinner's tow'r ...
A kind of tune, which all things hear and fear;
Softness, and peace, and joy, and love, and bliss,
Exalted manna, gladness of the best,
Heaven in ordinary ...
The milky way, the bird of Paradise ...
The land of spices; something understood.
George Herbert
Companions are encouraged to use the forms and types of prayer that sustain them in ministry and discipleship.
We are currently exploring two main forms of daily prayer - Morning and Evening - to 'book-end' the day. We draw on a variety of Wesleyan sources, including Common Prayer - a liturgy for ordinary radicals, The Methodist Worship Book, The Methodist Prayer Handbook and the Order of St Luke (OSL).
